Prescott has been a great place for horses since before our days as a frontier town. Original posts for tying up horses can still be found at some downtown historic homes. We have lots of State and Federal land where horse riding is allowed. Prescott’s moderate year-round climate and miles of riding trails mean you can ride most of the year in many varied terrains with different types of scenery. You can ride in the forest and you can ride in the high desert. Prescott has many homes with horse set-ups (barns, corrals, etc.). You can find horse properties from 1 acre in size up to 40 acres or more. There are riding groups you can join, which gives you a fun way to make new friends.
